1) Why Evangelise Muslims
Description: The following issues will be briefly dealt with: A Biblical mandate to reach
Muslims, Islam is the largest unreached and unengaged religious block, Christian
attitudes to reaching Muslims

Description: The life of Muhammad
3) History of Islam
Description: The origins and spread of Islam
4) Basic beliefs of Islam
Description: A study of the 6 fundamental tenets of Islam:
 Belief in God
 Prophets, Books
 Angels
 Judgement Day
 The decrees of Allah
5) Basic practices of Islam
Description: A study of the 5 Pillars of Islam:
 Shahada
 Salat
 Zakat
 Sawm
 Hajj
6) Islamic Culture
Description: Islam is culturally diverse but this study will look at the common Islamic
cultural traits. We ought not to offend Muslims culturally when ministering to them.
Learning about Islamic culture will help us to avoid being unnecessarily offensive.
7) Introduction to the Qur’an and the Hadiths
Description: What is the Qur’an and what are the Hadiths? These are the scripture on
which all Muslims base their faith and lives. Understanding what they are will give the
student insight into why a Muslims thinks like he does.
8) Islamic sects
Description: Not all Muslims are the same. Although they claim to be one in the Islamic
community this course will show how diverse Muslims are.
9) Folk Islam and Sufism
Description: We tend to think about Muslims only according to purely orthodox Islamic
culture. However the majority of Muslim practice folk Islam or Sufism. This will give an
understanding of the considerably unorthodox practices of most Muslims.
10) Spiritual Strongholds in Islam
Description: Islam is often considered to be a religion of ritual and law but not one that
is spiritual. However spirituality has a major role to play in the lives of Muslims and thus
are bound by spiritual strongholds.
11) Christian – Islamic Apologetics
Description: As much as Christians would like to just share the Gospel with Muslims
most Muslims will raise fundamental issues that will need to be answered by the
Christian evangelist. Some of these issues that will be dealt with are:
 The Muslim belief that the Bible has been corrupted
 The Muslim misunderstanding concerning the doctrine of the
Trinity
 The issue of the Divinity of Christ
 The fact that Muslims deny the death of Jesus and the atonement
 The Muslims’ claim that Muhammad is predicted in the Bible
12) Principles of sharing the Gospel with Muslims
Description: These are more principles on how to approach Muslims to share the Gospel
than a method to follow.
13) Story telling in Muslim evangelism
Description: Story telling is a method of evangelism that has been effectively used by
many evangelists to Muslims.
14) Understanding conversion in Islam and Christianity
Description: What is conversion? How do Muslims perceive conversion? What is the
Biblical understanding of conversion? How to relate the Gospel to Muslims without
them misunderstanding the concept of conversion.
15) Discipling converts from Islam
Description: How to deal with the psychological, emotional, theological and moral issues
that converts from Islam face.
