Create an Advertisement Assignment

YOU WILL CREATE TWO PRINT ADVERTISEMENTS INSTEAD OF A COMMERCIAL.
THE MOST YOU CAN RECEIVE ON THIS ASSIGNMENT IS 60%***
Your project is to work on your own to create a print advertisement (poster, pamphlet,
etc.) for a product that you will make up.
1.
You will be working on this individually to create a 2 PRINT ADVERTISEMENTS for 2
different products. Your ad must do the same as a commercial – advertise a product. You
want to sell it to people!
2.
You must make up your own product. For example: you can sell laundry soap, but it
can’t be TIDE or any other brand that actually exists. You can also invent a completely
new product that doesn’t exist, or create a modified version of a product.
3.
You should show evidence that your product works. You can do this in a number of
ways: demonstration, testimony, comparison, or make up your own way of proving that
your product works.
4.
Along with your commercial, you must have a 1 paragraph write up in which you discuss
the following: Your target audience (what kind of people are you marketing to?), Your
advertising techniques (How did you put together your commercial? Why did you make
those choices?)
5.
You should use graphics and visual effects for your poster/advertisement.
6.
You will be graded partially on whether or not you have a unique item, the graphics,
layout and set up of your add, and the overall appeal of your product.
7.
Have fun! Be prepared and creative!

You can create a poster using poster board, writing utensils etc. or you can use a program
online or on the computer to create your ads.
