7. Possessive NOUNS
In Spanish, when we name the person to whom something or “someone” belongs, we must RE-PHRASE
the words to eliminate the apostrophe that is used in English to show that possession.
For example: Marco’s backpack, in Spanish would be: the backpack of Marco, or la mochila de Marco
Why do we need to ELIMINATE (get rid of) the apostrophe in order to say it in Spanish?

13.The Numbers (los números)
Numbers used as adjectives in Spanish are just like English.
1. They are placed in BEFORE the noun
2. You do not need an “article” (el, la)
3. When the quantity (amount) is greater than 1, then the person/object you are talking about needs to
be expressed in the PLURAL (add “s” or “es”). Numbers are never made PLURAL.
You will need to know (and how to spell) the numbers 0-100. Briefly explain how the #s are written in the
following ranges. Include HOW MANY WORDS are used in each case.
