JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for an experienced Press & Marketing Officer to assist in the running of the Marketing
& PR Department at The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre.

At least 2 years previous experience of Publicity and marketing, preferably in the arts for events
industries with good media contacts
Interest and desire to work in the arts industry
Positive attitude with excellent self-motivation and ability to work on your own initiative.
Ability and desire to work as part of a team.
Excellent organisation and planning skills with the ability to work flexibly under pressure, to
prioritise and to meet deadlines.
First class written English skills with an ability to write informative, accurate and creative copy.
Excellent eye for detail and proofreading skills.
Proven IT skills and previous experience of using a customer database for mailing extractions
and reporting
Proven ability to work within allocated budgets
Educated to degree level

Working under the Press and Marketing Manager, to plan, implement and monitor campaigns to
achieve income and attendance targets for individual productions and events
To devise and implement under the guidance of the Press and Marketing Manager Publicity
campaigns to maximise editorial for each production and the theatre: press days/ interviews/
promotions etc.
To deliver the theatre’s online marketing strategy including website content management, emarketing campaigns /social network campaigns: Facebook/ Twitter Youtube.
To ensure all media are bought at a competitive rate.
To plan, devise and fulfil direct mail campaigns (including data extraction and copy writing).
To plan and negotiate print distribution contracts.
To book and implement display and classified advertising.
To book and implement outdoor advertising.
To produce the production programmes.
To generate other selected print.
To create all front-of-house/point-of-sale displays (signage and photography).
To research, create and monitor third party collaborations and sales promotions.
To produce, analyse and report on sales data.
To promote and achieve audience development and access objectives.
