


Founded 1996
APEC-approved project based at the
University of Washington in Seattle, USA.
Dedicated in providing timely information
on emerging infectious diseases (EID’s) in
the Asia Pacific. Our goal is to promote
collaboration to enhance bio-preparedness
in the APEC region.
APEC EINet: What We Do
Information provision: Provide timely,
accurate, and reliable EID information through
EINet’s electronic Newsbriefs and Alerts to
enhance bio-preparedness in the Asia Pacific.


Biweekly Newsbriefs / Alerts when necessary
EID News, Updates on major EID’s, Newly published
articles on EID’s, and Notifications regarding EID-related
events and conferences

website ALERT I. Threat of infectious diseases recognized

Fri 31 Dec 2004: ALERT II—Provide official URL’s with
specific disease information. Include note on low risk of
infectious disease transmission from cadavers to relay
reliable, evidence-based risk information.
Wed 4 Jan 2005: ALERT III—Report first potential
