title: Assistant Category Manager
Objective of the position
 To align with and support BSH’s Category Managers and work with the Kitchen and Retail Trade
Marketing Dept towards implementing the BSH strategy, and achieving Corporate Goals and
Business Plan targets.

 Ensuring that the Brand Strategic Plan set by the Brand Group
Marketing Manager is reflected on the Category Strategies and
communicated to Sales, Trade and Consumer through all relevant
literature
 Coordinate with the Trade Marketing & Brand Managers to ensure
that the relevant literature and promotional materials reflect the
features, benefits and strategy for each of the product category.
 Support in the definition, communication and cross-company

commitment to category Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) at
product category, brand and VIB levels.
 Support the Category Management team’s work schedule
according to business strategy and plan

Customer / Market Knowledge
Coordinating the development of a clear ‘Product/Brand’
strategy based on knowledge of UK/Irish market

 Support the coordination of all Category strategy in UK and IE, in
line with the Brand’s and BSH’s objectives
 Work with the Category Managers and identify opportunities for
growth and understand how to move into those areas and discuss
and seek agreement with the Group Marketing Manager and
follow up with the Sales teams.
 New customers

 Support the sales team and Category Managers acquisition of new
customers through analysis opportunities for each Category and
assessment of how these fit the Brand’s sales strategy
 Keep the Category Manager aware of product trends as they effect
the business

Communication
 Involvement / Communication with internal and external
contacts to promote Category Strategy

 Liaise with all departments and third parties on Category issues
as required by the Category Managers
 Assist the regular communication of Category information,
activities or developments to all relevant departments and third
parties
 Co-ordination of Category and product related activities.
 Support the Category Managers liaising with head office in
Germany on all product and category related topics.
 Participation in UK & international workshops / project teams
when necessary, including supporting the Category Management

 Category Management
 Check relevant Category KPI’s and undertake appropriate actions
towards their achievement. Ensure that Category Managers are
aware of any key information.
 Support the Category Managers to ensure that each Category is
aligned with the Brand strategy and performing in line with the
business plan objectives in volume and value.
 Gain/maintain support from key stakeholders for implementing
the individual Category strategies
 Adhere to Corporate Compliance & BSH Business Conduct
Guidelines at all times
 Administration
 Coordinates with the Category Managers to provide / report
statistics (e.g. forecasts, general market information)

 Meetings, teleconferences
 Organize, lead and participate in regular & ad hoc meetings e.g.
with superior, own team & related departments
 Participate in centrally organised marketing events e.g. fairs,
shows, showcase
 Participate in project teams within/across departments
 Process PO’s and Invoices in accordance with Company Guidelines
(if applicable)
