Biome • A large geographic area identified by a particular type of common plant or animal Temperate forest Biosphere • The portion of Earth that is capable of supporting life. The biosphere includes the outer region of the earth (the lithosphere) and the lower region of the atmosphere. Habitat • The place where an organism naturally lives and grows (it’s home) – it is made within an ecosystem. Species • A group of organisms that look like each other and are able to breed among themselves with mates. Interdependent • 2 organisms that are dependent on each other for survival • Example: this butterfly depends on the flower for nectar (food) and the flower depends on the butterflies for fertilization.
