time at Field Day. (7 or more words in the sentence)
3) Computer words: Type the words on the computer and change the color and
font
4) Rainbow Words:
Write each word in pencil. Then trace each word 3 times using a different colored
pen, pencil or crayon each time.
5)Word Pyramids:
For each word start out with each letter on the first line. Then go on to the next
line and put the first and second letter. Keep on adding a letter until the whole
word is spelled correctly. The words should be in the shape of a triangle, or
pyramid when you are done.
Example: drive
d
dr
dri
driv
drive
6) Practice Test: Have a parent, sibling or friend call out the words to you. Check
the words and write each incorrect word 5 times each. **Must be signed by the
person giving the test.

letters. Example: alligator; rail, roll, tail and so on.
9) Spelling Story: Write a story using all of your spelling words. Underline the
spelling words in the story. It can be funny but it has to make sense.
10) Silly Sentences: Write a sentence for each word. Make as many words in the
sentence start with the same first letter as your spelling word. Example: If your
spelling word is because, your sentence might be — Billy the Baboon batted
baseballs because Billy bats best. (each sentence must contain a minimum of 5
words) Underline all spelling words. **Must make sense.
11) Dictionary words: Choose 10 of your spelling words to look up in the dictionary.
Write down the definition for each word.
12) Make Your Own Sentence: Build your own sentence using each word. Example: if
your spelling word is artist: Your sentence could be; All raccoons touch incredibly
soggy things. **Must make sense.
