SPELLING ACTIVITIES
* Spelling pre-tests will be on Wednesdays. Each pre-test will be completed in the
spelling notebook.
* Spelling activities will be due Thursday, Friday, and the following Tuesday.
Choose ONE activity for each day from the given list below. Each spelling activity
should be completed in the spelling notebook and handwritten. Scores will be
given based on spelling accuracy, following directions, and overall effort.
* Spelling quizzes will be the Wednesday following the pre-test.

Choose one activity for each of the due dates from the list below.
Activities due Thursday
Rewrite incorrect words
from pre-test 5 times
each.
Write the entire spelling
list in ABC order
Write each of the words
on your list forward and
backward.
Activities due Friday
Rewrite each word from
the spelling list.
Underline the letter or
letters that fit this
week's spelling rule.
Create a crossword
puzzle using all 20 words
from your list.
Use a dictionary to find
the part of speech for
each of the words from
your list. If a word can be
more than one part of
speech, write them all
down.
Activities due Tuesday
Choose 10 words and
write each in a fifth grade
sentence (8 or more
words).
Choose 10 words and
draw/find a picture to
represent each word.
Write the word next to
each picture.
Create a list of synonyms
and antonyms for each
word on your list.
