1346 Spectroscopy Instruments MONOCHROMATORS Flanged Beam Splitter Holder • Holds a beam splitter at a 45 degree angle • Rod mounted so you can vary the optical axis height MINISPECTROMETERS ARRAY DETECTORS SPECTROGRAPHS • Includes lens holders Rod mounted 78150 Beam Splitter Holder The 78150 Beam Splitter Mount holds a 2 inch (51 mm) square beam splitter, up to 0.25 inch (6 mm) thick, at a 45° angle. Since it can be coupled directly to Oriel light sources, monochromators, and detectors via the 1.5 Inch Series flanges, it is a convenient device for splitting a beam in an enclosed optical system. The 78150 has two lens holders for 1.5 inch (38 mm) diameter lenses. 2.5 (63.5) 2.5 (63.5) 1.5 Mounting (38) You can mount the 78150 directly to other Oriel instruments via the 1.5 Inch Series flanges. This allows rotation of the 78150, so the split off beam can be directed anywhere in a circle perpendicular to the through beam. It has 1.5 inch series flanges, for direct coupling to Oriel Monochromators and Spectrographs (we also offer a sample holder for our minispectrometers; see page 1325). The interior baffle design of the 78100 Sample Compartment prevents light from reaching the output without going through the cell, and the grooved lid prevents ambient light from entering the compartment. The lid comes off easily for quick insertion and removal of the sample. This will reflect the light that would normally be lost, back into the cell. The optional 78103 Spherical Reflector Assembly uses a broadband, high reflectivity AlMgF2 coated mirror. This lets you use excitation or emission filters without the need for an additional holder. The filter holder, mounted to the inside of one of the ports, holds 2 inch (51 mm) circular filters, up to 0.12 inches (3 mm) thick. For most applications you’ll want to focus the incident light onto your sample, and often that light is collimated. You may then want to recollimate the output beam, or image a fluorescing region of the cell onto the input slit of your spectrograph. The 78100 has two lens holders for 1.5 inch (38 mm) diameter lenses. The clear aperture is 1.2 inches (30 mm). The distance from the lens to the sample is 2 inches (51 mm).
