Monoclonal Antibodies
Introduction
Randox Life Sciences was founded in 1982 in the United
Kingdom as a division of our parent company, Randox
Laboratories. We develop and manufacture a wide range
of products including high quality antibodies and conjugates
targeting drugs of abuse, steroids, hormones and biochemical
markers. We also offer customers our extensive list of human
recombinant cytokines, chemokines, adhesion molecules and
tumour markers.
Our product range consists of over 1000 products that are
all manufactured in our state of the art, ISO 13485 accredited
facility. As well as our ever expanding range, we can provide
a number of services such as custom production and
technical support. Our products can be used in a multitude
of applications including ELISA, Lateral flow, Western Blot
analysis and immunofluorescence.
With over 30 years experience in manufacturing and
developing antibodies, we know how important quality is in
creating testing kits as many of our products have been used
in the development of our parent company’s diagnostic kits,
including the patented Biochip Array Technology.
Monoclonal Antibodies
Our monoclonal antibody products are produced in sheep
for use in both research and commercial development.
Sheep monoclonal antibodies have been shown to have
higher affinities than standard mouse monoclonal antibodies
and have also been shown to have a much broader range of
epitope recognition. When looking to develop immunoassays,
this translates into an increase in your assay sensitivity and
precision, ultimately leading to many technical and commercial
advantages;
• Specificity – as the antibody only binds to one specific
region, it is possible to produce a highly specific antibody
for the required target. Alternatively, a generic antibody
can also be produced that binds to a common epitope
on all cross reactants
• Affinity – each antibody molecule binds to the target with
the same affinity – therefore it is possible to produce
monoclonal antibodies with extremely high affinity
• Cross reactivity can be eliminated
