Experienced in designing and developing, as well as testing and troubleshooting systems. Demonstrates strong listening, analysis and follow through skills in working individually as well with teams on projects. Proficient in following areas: Java, JSF, JSP, JSTL, Servlet, EJB, J2EE, Struts, CORBA, RMI, Spring, Hibernate, CXF JAX-WS, JAX-RS/REST IDE: Eclipse, DBArtisan, Informatica, CAST Sybase, PL/SQL Oracle, Database Design, VAP OOUML, Design Patterns, PLC/SDLC SOAP, XSLT, DHTML, JQuery, JSON AFS, UNIX SHELL, Solaris, HP, RedHat, Autosys PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Morgan Stanley, Mumbai, India 2004 to 2012 Global financial services firm and a market leader in securities, asset management and credit services. Senior Manager, Mumbai, India Development of Distributed SOA based enterprise applications for Morgan Stanley Investment Management: Sales and Marketing, E-business and Fixed Income divisions. MSIM International: The project is web site www.msim.com and uses Vignette Application Portal Server. It is used by users such as Financial Advisors, Consultant and Individual Investors. It provides them access to Morgan Stanley product including pricing, performance and team biographies. The project competitive analysis was done by UK team and overall business interaction was handled by Chicago team. I was point of contact and lead from Mumbai team. The entire project implementation was done by Mumbai team. I worked mainly to setup architecture for business and presentation tier. I worked on few modules such as performance, biographies which fetched data from database and transformed into html using xslt. The xml and xsl were passed on to Vignette application logic which rendered it as part of portal page. I managed developers to complete their assignments. The site has both public and secure interfaces. The I18N is handled by properties files as well as information stored in database. The database information was serviced by vendor. The product footnotes displayed on front end such as disclaimers were also stored in database. I worked on both I18N and disclaimers. I was part of activity to deploy the site in production and doing its testing. Due to performance requirements of page to be served in two seconds the business logic was coded as layer which was migrated from JXB application server to Vignette as part of performance tuning. Liquidity Link: enhanced existing portal application to add pagination functionality implementation in server side java code to list funds. IFDS: used SSB vendor java api to extract transactions. Developed parsers to load the xml feeds into database. FIBod: wrote spring based standalone application to query data from datalink service using provided utility and applied transformations in code and loaded data to database. The data are positions and transactions data. The utility fetched data as csv files and transformations such as aggregation and computing desired values were performed in code. WWFISecurityBroker: supported existing java broker that consumed securities and issuers distributed from GSD broker. The application read messages from MQ and extracted necessary attributes and stored to sybase database and provided acknowledgements to GSD using MQ. This used legacy ETL tool Data junction which was embedded in the java application. The java application also loaded data into temporary tables whose schema was managed dynamically in java code thus making it more self-managed without requiring additional data maintenance. The application integrated with firm wide alerting system Netcool and the program was scheduled with firm wide scheduler Autosys. I developed similar application when fixed income platform was being renovated by buying Latent Zero product. I build the services which handled security creation and consumed securities published by GSD. These applications where adapter between the latent zero product and GSD and managed referential data locally. It also managed all acknowledgements status for easy troubleshooting. Client Reporting: used Informatica to load xml data feeds for Risk Analytics into sybase database. The Blackrock Solutions Aladdin product is used as front office trading and risk platform for Fixed Income. The back office functions are handled by vendor SSB. BRS was unable to provide client reports so this piece was managed by Morgan Stanley. This involved taking analytics data and converting it from hierarchical to de-normalized form. The sector paths were converted to level ids to help do easy report generation and help them do breakdowns by various levels for reporting. The data was pushed to vendor using in house application Data Feeds Platform. The vendor provided Enterprise Service Platform with data marts using bi-temporal database. This uses concepts of ASOF and ASAT for storing data so one can query data as of effective date and well as historical data. It used customized jdbc driver using Squirrel tool for database access. I developed the unix shell scripts to fetch the downloaded files and prepare them for loading into informatica. I developed all informatica workflows which uses transformations such as aggregation, sorting, expressions, joiners, routers, sql. The flows use post processing using stored procedure to maintain history tables. The data is portfolio, sector and security level data, benchmark data and holdings data. It involved working with benchmark weights and composite holding.
