Recent projects
JDR Cable Systems Ltd - ORE Catapult has been
working with JDR to develop and implement testing
programmes to prove new cable designs through
accelerated lifetime and validation testing, as well
as certifying new cabling systems. This work has
been successful in increasing the understanding of
design challenges and finding possible solutions.
Assessment of aged HV bushings
ORE Catapult has carried out check testing and
detailed failure analysis investigations of HV
transformer bushings for a number of clients. The
testing, analysis and strip-down activity uncovers
the source of the degradation. This enables
ORE Catapult to provide recommendations for
improvements and modifications to the designs
of the bushings and steps for the client to take to
better monitor and assess degradation in-situ in
the future.
