SALES AND MARKETING ASSISTANT SUMMARY
We’re looking for a friendly, efficient and proactive person with great attention to detail to
join our sales and marketing team, working three days a week.
The communications, digital and marketing team is a small and ambitious team at the
heart of FPA. We play a key role in raising money for FPA through our sales and
marketing activities. We strive to provide an excellent service to our customers, who
include health professionals, teachers and parents, and are always looking for ways to
reach new people with our products and services.
You’ll have good writing and communication skills, an excellent telephone manner, and a
can-do attitude as well as taking pride in your work.
You’ll report to our Sales and Marketing Coordinator and work with the wider
communications, digital and marketing team to help us achieve our targets.

SALES AND MARKETING ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE:

Our mission is to champion people’s rights to sexual and reproductive health and
wellbeing through advocacy, campaigning, education and information.
Overall purpose of the job
Process sales orders efficiently and accurately; provide high-quality customer care by
phone and email; keep databases up-to-date and accurate; provide support for marketing
activities and campaigns
Main responsibilities
Sales support and customer care
•
Process email, telephone and online sales orders and returns efficiently and
accurately to agreed standards.
•
Handle phone and email enquiries from customers and other members of the public
in a professional, helpful and friendly manner.
•
Manage customer complaints calmly and efficiently, referring to the department
head as required.
•
Liaise with the finance team and department colleagues to resolve invoice and
payment queries, refund requests, unpaid invoices and other financial matters.
•
Deal with requests for membership packs, fundraising materials and other
resources, working with the office administrator as required.
•
Maintain good working relationships with third-party suppliers.
•
Monitor and report on stock levels and liaise with third-party suppliers as
appropriate to ensure product availability.
Data and marketing support
•
Keep customer other data accurate and up-to-date.
•
Help produce data for marketing activities.
•
Help coordinate website and email content.
•
Assist with sales and marketing reports.

Set up free trials of FPA’s online primary school resource.
•
Assist with updating FPA’s database of clinics as required.
Other duties
•
Assist with the smooth running of the department and the FPA office.
•
Ensure that all work undertaken follows FPA’s policies and procedures.
•
Be committed to FPA’s equal opportunities policy and ensure that this is reflected
in the work of the postholder.
•
Undertake other tasks, as required by line manager, which are consistent with the
responsibilities of the post.

SALES AND MARKETING ASSISTANT –
OUTLINE OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS
HOURS
21 per week, over 3 days. Flexibility in working hours may be required, as directed by the
demands of the job.
SALARY
The position is offered at FPA Grade E. Starting salary will be between £21,000 and
£24,000 pro rata (including Inner London Weighting).
HOLIDAY
25 working days each year, plus bank holidays and privilege days (pro-rata for part-time).
Holiday entitlement is increased by one day per year after five years service to a
maximum of 30 days after ten years (or pro rata).
FPA SICK PAY
FPA sick pay is paid in conjunction with Statutory Sick Pay according to length of service.
PENSIONS
Employees are automatically enrolled in a contributory pension plan but may opt-out.
SEASON TICKET LOAN
An interest free season ticket loan is available to employees who have completed their
probationary period.
