INTRODUCTION
This programme is specially designed for non-electrical staff who work in environment that uses
electrical power for production and manufacturing. Participants will be equipped with knowledge
of power supply in a factory, identifying circuit breakers, relays, contractors, motors as well as
practice on electrical safety.

OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course, participants will understand:






Basic electricity;
Power supply;
Circuit breakers, use and applications;
Relays and contractors, use and applications;
Motors, use and applications; and
Troubleshooting.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Electricians, electrical and maintenance supervisors, personnel from safety operations,
maintenance and service staff that required an overview into the area of supervision, safety
operation and maintenance of the electricity supply.

Head of Power Unit, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Penang, Malaysia
He received the CEI Part 2 from IERE, UK in 1983 and MSc (Distinction) from the University of
Nottingham, UK in 1989. From 1973 to 1998, he was with the Electrical Engineering
Department of the Ungku Omar Polytechnic, Ipoh, Malaysia. In September 2004, he joined the
MARA University of Technology, Penang, Malaysia (UiTM) where he is currently a Senior
Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering
Ir. Harapajan has conducted numerous training and development programmes related to
electrical chargeman for companies like Petronas Fertilizer, Perlis Power Plant, Malaysia
Airports Bhd and so forth. He has also been a trainer with the FMM since 1996 in all areas
related to electrical chargeman.
His main interests are electrical safety, high voltage, maintenance engineering, power quality
and power systems engineering. He has conducted several Electrical Maintenance and Power
Quality Courses for Telecom Malaysia and UiTM and has acted as consultant to several power
quality projects for Telekom Malaysia and UiTM. In the area of High Voltage Technology and
Testing, he has done several testing and certification of surge protective apparatus for local and
regional manufacturers of protective devices.

Participation in the programme is based on a first-come-first-served
basis. Cheques made in favour of the “FMM Institute” should be forwarded on or
before programme date to the FMM Institute, Northern Branch, Bandar Seberang
Jaya. Participants who registered but did not attend, will be billed
accordingly. . Upon confirmation, kindly send us the payment before the
commencement of the programme.
CANCELLATION
There will be no refund for cancellation within 2 days prior to the programme,
50% for cancellation between 3 – 6 days and full refund for cancellation 7 days
prior to the programme. Please inform in writing if you intend to cancel. A
replacement can be accepted at no additional cost.
DISCLAIMER
The FMM Institute reserves the right to change the facilitator, date and
to vary / cancel the programme should unavoidable circumstances
arise. All efforts will be taken to inform participants of the changes.
