INTERNAL ADVERT POSITION: Sales and Marketing Assistant LOCATION: Sonia Friedman Productions, Duke of York’s Theatre, London HOURS: Full-Time, Monday - Friday (10am -7pm) Sonia Friedman Productions Sonia Friedman Productions is a West End and Broadway production company responsible for some of the most successful theatre productions in London and on Broadway in recent years. In London current shows includeThe Book of Mormon, Harry Potter & The Cursed Child Parts One and Two, Dreamgirls, The Glass Menagerie, Travesties and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? with Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour and The Ferryman opening later this year. SFP is also producing the UK tour of Sunny Afternoon as well as the UK tour of Funny Girl. Our expanding company is recruiting for a new member of the marketing department so if you are excited by the prospect of playing a key supporting role within sales and marketing for Sonia Friedman Productions then get in touch. Main Purpose: The Sales and Marketing Assistant will support the marketing department to devise and deliver sales and marketing campaigns that maximise ticket sales and consolidate Sonia Friedman Productions leading position in the industry. Reporting to: Sales and Marketing Manager and Senior Marketing Coordinator. Key Responsibilities: To maintain excellent day-to-day relationships with external press and marketing agencies, venue box-offices and theatre management teams as well as with internal marketing, production and general management teams. SALES DUTIES To support the Sales and Marketing Manager with developing and executing appropriate plans of action to maximise box office revenues. Building and maintaining (daily) the standardized data-bases for all SFP shows. Monitoring of daily sales reports to accurately forecast and effect attendance numbers. Analysis of daily sales reports, within the context of competitors, the marketplace and current and emerging sales trends, to maximise box office revenues. To be the primary contact with venue box offices. Liaising regularly by phone, email and in person. Assist with monitoring weekend performances in the Sales and Marketing Manager’s absence. Assist with box office set up and on-sales and to help ensure effective inventory management. Primary website and ticket agent website monitoring. (Perform regular audits on sites making sure that marketing assets are up-to-date, sales channels are open online and at correct prices for SFP productions and that agents’ allocations are reflective of any changes or amendments) MARKETING DUTIES Brief and oversee workflow of external creative agencies to ensure delivery of artwork and marketing collateral within agreed budgets and time scales. Proof marketing materials and seek approvals from internal teams. Liaise with printers and external agencies to oversee the printing, proofing and delivery of marketing posters and leafets. Archive and file marketing materials as necessary Contribute to the monitoring of, maintainance and evolution of SFP branding by assisting the Senior Marketing Coordinator with management of the SFP website, SFP database email marketing and SFP social media profiles as well as monitoring of online sentiment on relevant forums and sites. Assist the marketing department with the smooth running of critic’s performances and opening nights as well as any other media performances. In liaison with production department organise access performances for all SFP shows. Assist the Senior Marketing Coordinator and production department with organisation of archive recordings. Assist the marketing department with photoshoots, photocalls, and filming as required Assist with the organisation of events, including access performances, charity galas and Q&As. To be present at SFP performances, events and meetings as required. Suggest improvements to internal efficiency and additional creative project ideas to the department. Administration of the SFP Friends and Family List membership, press night fillers etc. To log and reply to all charity ticket requests in a timely manner. Minute-taking at meetings where required and to assist with meeting preparation Adminstration and organisation of marketing department systems and files. Any other duties as required by the marketing department and/or SFP management. Person Spec: We are looking for an ambitious individual who thrives in a fast paced environment and who loves a challenge. The ideal candidate will an exceptional team player with a confident and professional communication style and flawless ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Being well organised and having a keen eye for detail is incredibly important in this role. You should of course be deeply passionate about theatre and focused on a career in sales and marketing, ideally with some experience of working in a similar environment already. Some evening and weekend work will be required from time to time. Essential qualities / skills / experience Excellent communication skills, and discretion regarding sensitive information. Proven competency with Microsoft Office programmes (particularly Outlook, Word and Excel). Strong numeracy and confidence interpreting sales reports. Strong literacy for the purpose of proofing editing and redrafting copy. Basic photoshop skills. The ability to quickly learn new desirable skills Desirable qualities / skills / experience Proven copy writing ability. Basic knowledge of website maintenance. Basic understanding of email marketing and social media strategy. An understanding of the marketplace and of key producers and productions. Experience in an art’s marketing role. Experience in a box-office sales role / working closely with Box-Office teams. An understanding of West ticketing systems (especially ENTA and Audienceview) Knowledge of key theatre ticketing companies Experience in a PR role / working closely with PR teams.
