Reporting Department Theatre Department Reporting Supervisor and Training Provided By Theatre & Outreach Manager Length of Appointment May-July Time Commitment At least 15 hours per week Salary Stipend upon completion of internship Essential duties and responsibilities - Researching costumes and create full costume pitch with sketches with assistance of Theatre Manager - Build/Purchase/Pull/Alter 10 costumes with 3 additional add-ons for 3 different productions. - Assist the theatre staff with measurements, fittings and basic costume maintenance - Operate the sound cues for the 6 short Faeries, Sprites, and Lights performances - Other duties may be assigned Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess competent sewing skills and basic research skills. The intern must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Must be flexible, reliable, and able to work well with staff and volunteers. The ideal candidate will have a basic knowledge of theatre costume design with a desire to add to their portfolio and resume by creating their own designs and implement its completion with guidance but minimal supervision. Work Environment Some rehearsals will be indoor and some outdoor. Space for building/altering costumes will be provided or the intern can work from home if they prefer. The performances will be outdoors and under a tent. Revised April 10, 2015
