Where is the North Atlantic ocean located
The North Atlantic is a large body of saltwater located from North America to
Europe and northern Africa , with Greenland serving as its northernmost point and
the Equator as its southernmost point.
Size and Major Currents
The North Atlantic measures in at 41.08 mi2 in area, and an average depth of
3,380 meters (Aprox. 5 miles).
The North Atlantic current is the dominant current of the north atlantic. It is a warm
water current that flows clockwise
Climate
The North Atlantic is what is known as a temperate sea. That is, it is not tropical
like the Caribbean, nor is it polar, like the arctic ocean. Because it lies somewhere
between these two extremes in temperature, the North Atlantic has a strange
mixture of different types of creatures.
Organisms
There are many different forms of life within the north atlantic. It varies from tuna,
cod,salmon, and marlin to sea lions, sharks, rays, and sea turtles.

Land Forms
There are many land forms both above water and below. Some notable features
are the Puerto Rico Trench (Which at 8,648m is the deepest point of the Atlantic),
The Azores Islands, and The Reefs of Florida.
Trade and Tourism
The north atlantic has historically been the connection between Europe,Africa, and
the Americas. One he most notable being the slave triangle. Today the idea of the
trade is still very much alive.The tourism stays along coasts.
Fun Facts About the Atlantic
Most Nasa spaceships launches occur very close to the ocean. This is due to the
ship releasing rocket boosters into the Atlantic.
There is an underwater mountain range in the North Atlantic Ocean called the
Atlantic Ridge. It is twice as wide as the Andes Mountain range and runs
approximately 10,000 miles south from Iceland.
