Circadia
The name Circadia is translated
from the Latin words
"circa dies" meaning
“around the day” and based off
of life’s circadian rhythms.
•
Circadian rhythms are
physical, mental and
behavioral changes that
follow a 24-hour cycle.
•
Influenced by the earth's
rotation around the sun.
•  Responding primarily to light and
darkness in an organism’s
environment.
Circadian Rhythms
The Human Body’s Internal Clock Related
to Skin:
DAY
NIGHT
Maximum Moisture Level
12:00 pm
Greatest Water Loss
10:00 pm – 12:00 am
Skin constantly adjusting to
activities & environmental
changes
Body’s repair system is
stimulated to produce
collagen & elastin

procedures today that enable the skincare
professional to treat a variety of skin conditions:
•
Aging Skin
•
Improve Acne
•
Improve Texture
•
Normalize Pigment Irregularities
•
Treat Sun Damage
•
Reduce the Appearance of Scarring
Chemical Peels
•
Chemical peeling performed for over 40 years
•  Rejuvenate or remodel damaged skin
•
Focus on skin’s ability to heal itself when damaged
•
Different peels produce different degrees of tissue
destruction
•  Initiates the natural repair process within skin

Paradigm SWiCH In Peels
Achieve repair in skin without inducing tissue damage!
•  Trigger Reparative System
•  Repair system is held in ‘ready’ state at all times and fully
operable
•  Any repair system requires a large input of energy
•  In the form of ATP
•  Repair mechanism must be ‘switched’ on and the energy
supplied
SWiCH Dermal Rejuvenation System
Three part system:
1)
Effectively Penetrate
2)
Generate Energy
3)
Turn On the Repair System
Basic Biological Energetics
All the energy on the Earth comes from the SUN
↓
PLANTS
Photosynthesis
Carbon, Oxygen & Hydrogen
↓
GLUCOSE
Contains high amounts of energy
↓
ANIMALS
Consume plants → use glucose combined with oxygen → ATP
ATP
ATP
(Adenosine Triphosphate)
•  Most important energy-transfer molecule
found in our bodies
•  Fuel body uses for cellular activity and
metabolism
•  Essential to many physiological processes
•  Without ATP, life would end in seconds
Generation of ATP
The major source of energy for organisms capable of
using oxygen is cellular respiration. The following
processes work towards the production of ATP:
•
Glycolysis
•
Pyruvate Processing
•
Kreb's Cycle/Citric Acid Cycle
•
Electron Transport System
Generation of ATP – Kreb’s Cycle
•
Hans Krebs
•  1937 – Kreb’s Cycle
•
Cells converting
food into energy
•  Carbohydrates,
proteins & fats
•
Takes place inside
the mitochondria
Generation of ATP – Mitochondria
Generation of ATP – Kreb’s Cycle
•
Oxidation of Pyruvic Acid to Carbon Dioxide
•
Begins with Citric Acid by adding an Acetyl
CoA group
•
Final pathway, Electron Transport System,
generates ATP in large quantities (producing 38
ATP)
•
Mitochondrial function is critical for good health
and the production of pyruvate is essential to
the function of mitochondria
Increasing Your Skin’s ATP
•
Significantly increases skin’s
activity level including
collagen/elastin production
•
Improves antioxidant
formation
•
Accelerates wound healing
•
Improves epidermal turnover
and barrier
•
Also lowers cholesterol, BP,
body fat, helps fibromyalgia,
increases muscle girth,
improves circulation, heals
adrenals

Summary of the SWiCH System
1.
Cleanse the skin with gentle cleanser to remove dead skin
cells and excess lipids
2.
Application of Urea (EPiPREP) modified keratin proteins to
allow increased penetration of actives. The skin is then
cleansed again completely. Removal of Urea is essential
before next step.
3.
Application of pyruvate-succinic acid complex activates the
Kreb’s Cycle, increases flow of electrons to the Electron
Transport System generating more energy through ATP
synthesis. This product is not removed. It remains on the skin
and is followed by the Fraction V.
4.
Post treatment with Fraction V stimulates the immune system
and simultaneously activates multiple processes to
accelerate healing.
