Respiratory infections cause significant morbidity and are a leading cause of death in children in developing
countries. FTD offers 19 kits detecting the most clinically relevant respiratory pathogens.
All product manuals and validation files
are available on www.fast-trackdiagnostics.com
Fever and rash infections can cause emergencies and can have serious public health implications. Skin rashes
are usually not specific to the pathogen, so a clear diagnosis is required.
FTD offers 9 kits detecting the most clinically relevant pathogens causing fevers and rashes.

Worldwide, more than 1 million sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are acquired every day. As well as the
personal symptoms, infection can lead to an increased risk of HIV infection, miscarriage or infertility. Transmission
mostly occurs through sexual contact, but can also occur through blood or from mother to child during pregnancy
and birth.
FTD offers 7 kits detecting the most clinically relevant sexually transmitted pathogens.

Eye infections are usually caused by bacteria or viruses. Viral conjunctivitis is highly contagious and can
accompany common viral upper respiratory infections. Trachoma, a chlamydial infection, is more common in
poorer countries. It causes scarring of the eye and is the world’s leading cause of preventable blindness.
FTD offers the FTD Eye kit detecting 5 of the most clinically relevant eye pathogens.
Hepatitis C RNA
Hepatitis is often caused by a viral infection. There are 5 main hepatitis viruses that cause acute and/or chronic
infection, referred to as types A, B, C, D and E. As the disease is often asymptomatic and left untreated, chronic
hepatitis can ensue, leading to cirrhosis and primary liver cancer. Quantification of the nucleic acid (and, hence,
the virus) allows an estimation of infectivity and the likelihood of progression to severe chronic disease.
FTD offers 3 kits detecting and quantifying hepatitis virus B, C and E.

meningitis
Immunocompromised patients are more prone to serious infections than healthy people. Viral infections that are
usually asymptomatic or mild in individuals with a normal immune response can cause severe illness in individuals with immunosuppression such as HIV-infected individuals, or organ transplant recipients.
FTD offers 5 kits detecting and quantifying pathogens in the immunosuppressed.

Bacterial
meningitis
Bacterial meningitis has a rapid onset and is generally very serious, often with long term neurological effects.
It can be treated with appropriate antibiotics that may also prevent spreading. Viral meningitis is much more
common and is less severe, usually recovering spontaneously. Diagnosing the correct pathogen is lifesaving.
FTD offers 4 kits detecting the most clinically relevant pathogens causing meningitis.
DISTRIBUTORS NETWORK
TROPICAL FEVER
Tropical fever covers diseases that are prevalent in or unique to tropical and subtropical regions. They are often
transmitted by direct contact with infected animals or by the “bite” of insects such as mosquitoes and flies that
carry a parasite, bacterium or virus. An early evaluation – also in febrile travelers or migrants coming from such
regions – should enable quick management.
FTD offers 14 kits detecting the most clinically relevant pathogens causing tropical fevers.
