Plants will be despatched with full growing instructions from the beginning of March until the end of October. Please allow up to 28 days for delivery. Plant orders received before March will be sent as soon as possible once we start despatching, in the sequence in which they were received. In the event of a variety being sold out another of equal or greater value will be substituted, unless you have indicated alternatives acceptable to you or stated you do not want substitutes, in which case we will issue a credit note. Please quote invoice number in any correspondence about your order. - VAT We are not registered for VAT but are instead operating the Agricultural Flat Rate Scheme; Farmers Certificate No. 950 9095 05 0000 Plug plants will be despatched from the beginning of March until the end of October. - Potted Plants direct to your door (page 38-39) These plants are well established and hand picked from the benches of our Glasshouses. Plants will be despatched with full growing instructions from the beginning of March until the end of October, Streptocarpus 'Crystal Ice' is sold all year round. Please allow up to 14 days for delivery. Plants can be ordered for delivery on a specific date. - 30 Day Guarantee We only send out well established young plants of excellent quality, exactly the same as we use ourselves for growing on at the nursery. We are therefore happy to guarantee our plants for 30 days from the date of despatch. If any plants fail in that time, please contact us. Your statutory rights are not affected. After this time, failure of the plants will be due to the growing conditions which are beyond our control, and for which we cannot be responsible. Every plant we exhibit and sell is grown here on our Nursery in North Wales. Earlier last year we were very delighted that our daughter Lynne, was awarded The Reginald Cory Memorial Cup by the RHS for her hybridisation programme raising new streptocarpus of merit. As usual we bring you some newly bred plants we hope you’ll like, another scented streptocarpus, Sweet Rosy and three other new streptocarpus varieties all unique to us (page 4). Our begonia breeding is also producing exciting new plants, three of which are listed on pages 32 and 33. A new addition to the catalogue is SB Plant Invigorator as a ready to use spray. This is a combined plant stimulant, pesticide and fungicide which we have been using ourselves; it encourages strong growth and discourages pest and diseases (page 36). A medium sized plant will have up to ten blooms per flower stem. An exceptionally free flowering variety with upright foliage and a long flowering season of over eight months. Once the flower has been open for couple of days the lower lobes change from pure gold to speckled gold on a deep purple background Code A5 £4.00 Code A6 £4.00 6.1cm 3cm SWEET ROSY TITANIA A scented variety with large white and purple/pink flowers and as they age, the lower lobes change shade to coral/rose. This is a strong growing variety with broad leaves averaging four blooms per stem. The upper lobes on the flowers of this small, ruffled edged variety are creamy white, whilst the lower three lobes are a rich cherry pink with two distinct yellow fangs dissecting the lobes. An excellent free flowering variety that will bloom for over eight months a year. A large flowering variety, with shocking redpurple flowers, the lower lobes have 3 yellow blotches and an intense yellow eye. Very free flowering (2013 Introduction). Code A10 £3.20 ALANA. A compact variety with rich ruby pink rounded flowers, the surface is suffused with darker pink freckles. This is a very free flowering variety which produces flowers for up to eight months, the flowers forming a tight ball. (Introduced 2016) Code A11 £4.00 4.6cm ALBATROSS. A strong plant with pure white 6cm ALISSA AMANDA flowers and a yellow eye. A very beautiful plant, the flowers are ideal for cutting. Code A12 £3.20 ALISSA Wonderful primrose yellow on all 5 lobes of the flower with faint lines in the throat. Multi branching and very free flowering. It can flower for 10 months. Code A13 £3.20 AMANDA. Rich blue flowers with darker veining and white throat; upright stems producing a nice tight round head of flowers. Code A14 £3.20 5.6cm 7.2cm AMY ANNE AMY. A plant of small habit with deeply veined flat faced flowers, a very free flowering variety which will reward you for 8 months with constant blooms. (Introduced 2016). Code A15 £4.00 ANNE. Deepest purple and fully double; a very beautiful and distinctive flower. Code A16 £3.20 ANWEN. A softly coloured medium sized variety, very floriferous from early spring through to the late autumn. This is a nice sized plant that will reward for many months, a good show plant. (Introduced 2015). Code A17 £3.20 6cm AWENA. A medium sized creamy-white flower with shocking pink veins blending into a large yellow throat. Very free flowering on short stalks. This delicately coloured multi-flowering plant will produce a continuous display of flowers for over ten months a year. Moderately compact with strong, upright inflorescences which reach about 20cm in height. (2014 Introduction) Code A19 £3.20 BETHAN. One of the best varieties bred at our nursery. Sky blue upper lobes, lower lobes having a tracery of purple overlying the blue. Masses of tightly clustered flowers above smallish leaves forming a nice neat plant. Code A20 £3.20 BLACK PANTHER. An American variety with the most deep purple flowers imaginable. Two thin yellow bars emerge from the centre of the throat. Code A21 £3.20 CAPPUCCINO. Dark cornflower blue flowers with thick black lines in the throat. A medium sized plant. Code A26 £3.20 CARIAD. This variety produces up to ten blooms per inflorescence; overall the proportions of the plant are very pleasing with compact leaves and medium length flower stalks. The plant will flower from early April to late October each year. ( Introduced 2015) Code A27 £3.20 CARYS. This plant has flowers with striking pale blue upper lobes with rich pansy purple veining over the lower lobes. A neat upright plant with a tidy rosette of leaves. An excellent multiflowering variety. Code A28 £3.20 6.6cm BELLA BRISTOLS BLACK BIRD. This plant produces a huge head of large deep purple double flowers. A very showy and noteworthy plant. Small flowers of pale blue with a rich inky purple suffusing the lower three lobes. All year-round flowering and a neat compact plant. Code A35 £3.20 3.5cm CRYSTAL DAWN. Dainty flowers of pale pink background with purple/violet veining covering the lower three lobes, with slight veining on top two lobes. Very free, all yearround flowering with narrow strap like leaves. Code A36 £3.20 CRYSTAL ICE PBR. Crystal Ice is an outstanding variety with blue veins over white flowers. We consider this to be one of the best Streptocarpus ever bred. A medium sized plant with attractive narrow leaves with each flower stem having between 713 flowers. Couple this with year round flowering and you have a magnificent new type of Streptocarpus. Code A37 £3.20 CRYSTAL WONDER CRYSTAL SNOW A delicate white variety in the all year flowering Crystal Series. A profusion of small flowers held above a rosette of attractive narrow leaves. Very early flowering, it will bloom continuously from March to November; this variety has strong stems with a multi-flowering habit and a neat rosette of leaves. This variety produces a tight ball of flowers on relatively short stems, very free flowering with intense deep purple veins over the inky-blue flowers. (2013 Introduction) Code A31 £3.20 DS-HORUS. This has huge flowers but also has stems strong enough to take the weight of all the blossom; the flowers initially open a deep yellow but fade to a soft pink. Code A43 £4.00 ELSI. A really spectacular colour; large flowers of the deepest purple with two small yellow flashes at the centre. Code A44 £3.20 EVE. This stunning flower has everything; ruffles, veining and strong colour contrasts. A free flowering plant with an upright habit. Code A45 £3.20 5cm CELEBRATION CYNTHIA. A glowing magenta red with short flower stalks. This has many of the excellent qualities of one of its parents, Tina. Code A40 £3.20 DEE. Exceptionally free flowering. Code A46 £3.20 FIESTA. This is a new colour break for streptocarpus, the lower lobes have deep red-purple veins over a pale yellow background and the upper veins are violet with a yellow edge. As the flower fades the yellow becomes more dominant. A medium sized plant with a tidy habit, very floriferous. (Introduced 2015). Code A47 £3.20 FREYA. A compact plant with masses of white flowers held on short stems. This plant has a long season with flowers appearing for 10 months of the year. The leaves are short, forming a neat rosette. (Introduced 2016). Code A52 £4.00 GLORIA. A pale pink sport of ‘Falling Stars’ with the same lovely flowering habit i.e., masses of small dainty flowers. Code A54 £3.20 5cm HAYLEY HEIDI HAYLEY. A short variety which has a large number of flowers, up to 10 per stem. Bright violet blue flowers with deeper violet lines coming out of the centre onto the lower lobes. Dark leaves which form a neat rosette. Code A67 £3.20 GWEN. This is a white sport of ‘Bethan’, retaining all the excellent growing properties. The plant produces a large head of flowers that almost smother the compact leaves. (2003 introduction) RHS Award of Merit. Code A55 £3.20 HEIDI. A lovely clear blue with distinctive deep purple markings on the lower lobes. Upright habit. Code A68 £3.20 HANNAH. The flowers are pale pink when they first HOPE. The flowers are a rich velvety red/purple with two open, darkening to a mid pink after a couple of days. The throat is a strong yellow which extends over the lower lobes, overlaid with 7 short purple lines. The habit is very similar to its sister plant ‘Hope’. (Introduced 2009) Code A56 £3.20 6.7cm strong yellow flashes in the throat. A medium/compact variety which is very free flowering over 10 months of the year. A freeflowering variety which has up to 10 large flowers per stem; short in habit with flowers of multi-coloured veining over a white background. A beautiful new variety with richly coloured cerise pink and yellow flowers. A large flowering variety with violet-blue and yellow flowers which are freely borne for over 8 months a year. The flowers have beautiful violet-blue lace patterns on the lower three lobes on a yellow background, whilst the upper lobes are a contrasting pale blue. Very free flowering for 10 months of the year. (Introduced 2012) Code A61 £4.00 5.2cm HARLEQUIN LACE HARLEQUIN PURPLE HARLEQUIN PURPLE. A medium/ compact variety which is free flowering for up to 8 months of the year, and up to 6 flowers per stem. The flowers are flat faced with plum-purple upper lobes contrasting with yellow lower lobes. A very distinct flower. (Introduced 2012) Code A62 £4.00 HARLEQUIN ROSE. A compact variety with large flowers; the pale pink upper lobes contrast wonderfully with the deep pink veining over the lower lobes, each flower lasts for a long time and is held on a strong short stem. A short growing variety with an unusual combination of pale lavender and yellow on the flower face; deep purple flight lines add to the interesting pattern on this ruffled edged bloom. (Introduced 2016). Code A84 £4.00 4.6cm KATIE LYNDEE. A striking flower with strong veining and a contrasting edge to the lower lobes. A strong variety which is multi flowering with a tall habit. This is a white and blue flowering sport from ‘Katie’ and has all the same excellent qualities as ‘Katie; an exceptionally long flowering season with a tidy habit. A great plant for the show bench. A violet-pink colour sport from ‘Katie’ which is very free flowering, one of the earliest varieties into bloom in the spring and then continues to flower into the late autumn. Code A85 £3.20 NERYS. An unusual new combination of colours. The lower 3 lobes have purple veining with a hint of copper in the throat around two yellow stripes. An exceptionally free flowering plant with a neat habit. (2004 Introduction) RHS Preliminary Commendation. Code A86 £3.20 4.4cm OLIVIA 4.5cm PEARL NIA. The flowers appear pale pink with a yellow eye but the pink gradually gets darker around the edge. This gives an attractive picotee edge and a mixture of colour tones on the head of flowers. (2003 Introduction). RHS Award of Merit. Code A87 £3.20 OLIVIA. This is a new colour break from Dibley's breeding programme. S. 'Olivia' is salmon pink, the first variety to have this unusual colouring. This variety is very free flowering with a neat rosette of leaves, the flowers are a medium size with fine lines emerging from the throat. (2011 Introduction) Code A88 £3.20 PEARL. One of the most free flowering white streptocarpus we have ever seen, with up to 10 flowers on each stocky upright stem. Begonias require similar conditions to Streptocarpus. It is a genus of several thousand species and hybrids with a wide range of types and habits. We are not offering the tuberous varieties grown solely for their large flowers, but a range of beautiful species and hybrids which deserve to be more widely known. Many have showy flowers as well as attractive foliage. They will withstand a wide range of light levels but avoid excessive sun or shade. The temperature should be kept to a minimum of 10˚C (50˚F) . The compost should be moist but do not over-water. Feed regularly during the growing season with a well balanced fertiliser. For ease of description we have divided our range into five groups, Cane, Large Rhizomatous, Small Rhizomatous, Rex and Corm.
