Maackia amurensis ‘Maacnificent’
Description The most vigorous Maackia we have seen, with upright branching that forms a beautiful,
symmetrical vase shape. Slow growing round-headed flowering tree suitable for planting under wires.
Height: 20'-30’
Leaves: Alternate, compound, leaflets are opposite or nearly so and 2-3½’’ : Green with silvery tint with yellow
Fall color.
Bark: Peeling with maturity, rich shining brown
Flowers: Spike-like facemes of white pea like flowers that smell of freshly mowed grass blooming in June-July
Fruit: flat pod, 2 to 3’’ long, 1/3’’ wide
Habitat: This adaptable tree performs best in loose, well-drained soils. It will tolerate acid or alkaline conditions.
Fun Facts: Easy to transplant and disease resistant. Native to Korea.
