Dear BSH Member,
On behalf of the Programme Committee of the British Cardiovascular Society, I am delighted to be
building the programme for the BCS Annual Conference, 8 – 10 June 2015 in Manchester. The aim
of this mailshot is to highlight the heart failure content of the meeting to BSH members, although of
course it is likely that as many heart failure specialists will attend the meeting for the “non-heart
failure” aspects of the meeting as for the “heart-failure” aspects.
The theme of the 2015 programme is ‘Hearts
and Genes’, and we are delighted to announce
that Professor Robert Winston will be giving this
year’s Opening Ceremony Keynote Speech,
entitled “Where are we going with molecular
medicine?" This will be followed by a new-style
BHF “gene-to-bedside” session focussing on
Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (facilitated by
Professor Hugh Watkins) and BHF/UKGTN
sessions on the new gene panels for diagnosis
of inherited cardiovascular disease.
