About ATP and mitochondria
ATP (adenosine triphosphate) is a high energy molecule in cells. It is
generated within the mitochondria. ATP is composed of adenosine (an
adenine ring and a ribose sugar) and three phosphate groups. When in use,
ATP is broken down to ADP (adenosine diphosphate) to provide energy. Energy
from the breakdown of ATP drives many important reactions in the cell. This
means that ATP needs to be constantly produced, especially during exercise.
Mitochondria are tiny organelles found in every cell in the body and serve
as the “powerhouse of the cell,” responsible for creating more than 90% of
cellular energy. Mitochondria are necessary in the body to sustain life and
support growth. They are composed of tiny packages of enzymes that turn
nutrients into cellular energy. Mitochondrial failure causes cell injury that
leads to cell death. When multiple organ cells die, organ failure occurs. In
adults, many challenges associated with aging have been found to have
defects of mitochondrial function.
VitaEndure with ribose contains:
D-Ribose is a naturally occurring sugar that has been shown to support the
production and recycling of ATP, which helps to increase energy formation in
stressed tissues.
DMG is a metabolic enhancer that supports the immune system and helps
the body overcome various forms of stress such as aging, poor oxygen
availability and free radical damage. As a methyl donor, it contributes
methyl groups to keep ATP levels high.
Co Enzyme Q10 is a free-radical scavenger and a naturally occurring
cofactor in cellular energy. It is vital to the production of ATP. It supports
the heart’s pumping ability and blood circulation, helps facilitate tolerance
to exercise and helps maintain the heart’s muscle tone. As a powerful,
free-radical scavenger, it helps protect heart tissue from free-radical
damage. CoQ10 levels decline after the age of 35.

Acetyl-L-Carnitine is a derivative of the amino acid, carnitine. It supports
heart function by transporting fatty acids from the blood through to the

provide enough energy for it to keep beating regularly.
Malic Acid is involved in energy production in muscle cells. It also
supports increased ATP production because it’s involved in the Krebs
cycle. Malic acid is also needed for glucose metabolism, which is
important for nourishing muscles and nerves.
Rhodiola is an herb (Rhodiola rosea) that supports cellular energy
metabolism. It helps to facilitate high levels of ATP and CP (creatine
phosphate), thus providing more of the energy molecules needed to
perform many daily activities. We use the Rhodiola rosea species,
and it’s standardized to contain the proven 3:1 ratio of 3 parts
rosavins to 1 part salindosides.
Bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme that supports muscle recovery. It
has been shown to help manage muscle soreness after intense muscle
contractions.
Protease is a proteolytic enzyme that helps manage muscle soreness
following intense exercise.

About HGH

Description
iVitality estrogen detox is a Hormone Specific Formulation of ingredients
that have documented anti-aromatase activity as well as androgenic

Functions
Aromatase (a cytochrome P450 enzyme {CYP19}) is the enzyme that controls
the conversion of androgens to estrogens. More specifically, aromatase is the
enzyme responsible for catalyzing the biosynthesis of androstenedione into
estrone and the biosynthesis of testosterone to estradiol.
Estrogens include the broad range of aromatized hormones created from
androgens. The specific attribute of estrogens that separates them from
progestogens, androgens and corticoids is that estrogens are the only
aromatized steroid hormones. Estradiol, the most potent endogenous
estrogen, is biosynthesized by aromatization from androgens by aromatase
(which is also called estrogen synthase). Both males and females produce
endogenous estrogen from testosterone via the enzyme aromatase. In
aromatase inhibition, there is less conversion of testosterone and other
androgens into estrogens. The end result is lower estrogen levels and
higher androgen levels. Endogenous aromatase inhibition is recognized
as a normal physiological process in human beings as well as in other
species. In humans, there are a number of naturally occurring, endogenous
aromatase inhibitors. Endogenous means the substance is produced inside
the organism – it is the opposite of exogenous aromatase inhibitors such as
a prescription aromatase inhibitors.
The primary functions of iVitality estrogen detox are to support the natural
production and function of endogenous aromatase inhibitors and to support
the natural production of testosterone and other androgens to maintain
adequate levels of the substrates of androgen metabolites, which act as

Why do we need iodine?
Iodine deficiency can be a major contributor to the cause of congenital
hypothyroidism and goiter. Symptoms typical of iodine deficiency include
cold extremities, fatigue, insomnia, dry eyes and weight gain. Over the
years, sodium restriction – as directed by many health professionals in an
attempt to reduce hypertension and cardiovascular disease – has led to a
decline in iodine intake. Many brands of salt today are not enriched with
iodine. A goiter is often the result of the thyroid gland becoming enlarged
in an effort to compensate for a lack of iodine. Currently 200 million people
are affected by goiters.
Good sources of dietary iodine include iodized salt, seafood, kelp, seaweed,
asparagus, spinach and Swiss chard. However, the body does not store
iodine for long periods of time, so regular intake through diet, and possibly
supplementation, is important.
Iodine for thyroid health
The thyroid is composed of spherical follicles that selectively absorb iodine

Why should a patient’s homocysteine levels always
be checked?
Excess homocysteine in the circulation can damage the lining of arterial
walls, making them narrow and inelastic. Research suggests that a
raised homocysteine level is an independent risk factor for the hardening
of arteries, coronary heart disease, stroke, peripheral vascular disease
and other conditions associated with abnormal blood clotting. Elevated
homocysteine is also linked with a number of other serious medical
conditions, including depression, osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple
sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, spontaneous abortion, placental abruption,
neural tube defects (spina bifida, cleft palate, etc.), renal failure and
type II diabetes.
What is homocysteine?
Homocysteine is produced by the demethylation of dietary methionine which
comes from protein-containing foods. It is recycled back into methionine
through a pathway that involves vitamin B12 in the form of methylcobalamin
(which remethylates it) and folate. Homocysteine is simply an intermediate
in a very important biochemical pathway. Plasma homocysteine can also
travel another route, which involves the passing of sulfur groups
(transsulfuration). This is vitamin B6-dependent and results in the
production of cysteine, which can convert into glutathione, the most
important antioxidant in the body.
What causes homocysteine to become elevated?
Any roadblock in this pathway can cause homocysteine to elevate. When
we intricately study the biochemistry of the homocysteine pathway, we can
see that it involves a series of conversions that require enzymes. Several
nutrients, especially B vitamins, are needed for these conversions to occur.
Stress can deplete B vitamins, as can many medications.
The Comprehensive Metabolic Profile (CMP) test offered by Designs for
Health can pinpoint B vitamin deficiencies. It is also important to test the
body’s homocysteine levels. Performing both tests on women wishing to
get pregnant could reduce the risk of neural tube defects and pregnancy
complications. All patients with homocysteine levels above 7 are in need of
intervention, with cardiovascular support being an ideal recommendation.
Patients with a family history of early heart attacks or depression are also
prime candidates for such intervention.

What are ideal homocysteine levels for patients?
Initially, levels between 8 and 15 micromol/L were considered ideal.
However, research suggests maintaining even tighter control, as
homocysteine levels above 6.9 micromol/L may be harmful for longterm health. A rise in serum homocysteine of 5 micromol/L may increase
cardiovascular risk by 20% to 30%. Homocysteine levels tend to rise
with age; folate and B12 absorption decline in the elderly, so they may
require higher doses of these nutrients to lower their homocysteine
levels effectively. Also, medications commonly taken by these
individuals deplete folate, such as ibuprofen and other NSAIDs.

The importance of detoxification

Secretropin is a 100% natural growth hormone Secretagogue. That is, a compound that increases the natural production of another product. Secretropin
was initially developed and tested in 2001 but did not get into the general medical population until October 2006. This delay was due to the need to
have clinical testing done on the product. After 5 years, we knew that SRx worked in over 90% of the patients to raise the level of IGF-1/ICFBP-3, the two
important markers of Growth Hormone product, by 50-300%.
Then we started testing how different dosages and timing of taking SRx affected the response. What we found was that we could get a better rise in the

Instructions to Patients and Physicians
(A) Initially, you will need to have a hormone panel that includes both
IGF-1 and IGFBP-3. Start on 3 sprays at bedtime for 4-6 weeks and
then have a repeat of IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 and note whether your levels
went up or down.
(B) If your level went up: You can either stay on the 3 sprays a night or go
up to 4 sprays a night for 4-5 weeks, and then have a repeat of IGF-1
and IGFBP-3. If the level goes up, repeat (B), if the levels goes down,
go to (C).
(C) If your level went down: The drop in the GH markers indicates that
you have elevated your GH level above the amount that your body will
allow. This is caused by the production of Somatostatin (the hormone
responsible for keeping your GH levels lower). Sometimes adding 2-5
grams of L-Arginine at night can prevent this from happening and
improve upon your GH production. Otherwise, lower the number of sprays
by one. Repeat the blood work in 4-6 weeks. If the level goes up, go to
(B), if the level goes down, repeat (C).

The Threshold Theory of the Growth Hormone

Each of us is unique in how we manufacture and respond to the different
