7th Grade Earth Science Movie Maker Requirements: Learning Target: I will be able to create & develop a Movie with Live Movie Maker by utilizing the knowledge I have been practicing over the last two weeks. I will explore and compile facts about an Earth Science topic that I am starting to study in 7th grade science. Earth Science is an all-embracing term for the sciences related to the planet Earth. It is the study of our planet's physical characteristics, from earthquakes to raindrops and floods to fossils. It contains many branches, such as Geology and Oceanography. Description: You will research a topic dealing with Earth Science. Within your topic choose a minimum of 5 subtopics to include in your movie. Gather facts and pictures to use within your movie. Imagine you are teaching a student about your topic as you gather your facts. Save all pictures to your B drive in a new folder called Earth Science. Save all of your data and the URL of the website that you gathered the data from in a word document. Once you have collected all your data you may start creating your movie. The areas that you will be able to choose from are: Rock Cycle Rock and Fossil Record Plate Tectonics Mining Earthquakes Volcanoes Weather and Erosion Natural Disasters - earthquake and volcanic activity - impact on Humans Requirements: 1. Pictures/graphics from the Internet 2. Beginning Title Slide – using PowerPoint to create and then saving as a JPG 3. Titles: a. Title Slide within movie b. Caption titles c. Credits Slide – copy and paste URLs 4. Transitions on all media 5. Effects: a. As least 5 photos have effects on them b. 1 photo has 2 effects on it 6. Music throughout all media a. Need 2 songs in movie b. Music has to fade in and fade out 7. Save project as Last Name Earth Science.wlmp 8. Save as movie as Last Name Earth Science.mp4 9. The entire content of your earth science folder will be dropped in my drop box in your folder.
