Course description
The purpose of this course is to know the students to management information systems in a
holistic manner by identifying the foundations and principles upon which the information systems,
and to identify the different concepts that contain a concept of information systems, data,
information, knowledge, And the different types of systems of computer-based and organized, and
how it can be an essential resource of the organization's resources in the current era, and through the
identification of functional information systems, and administrative systems attribution. And look at
the management information systems as a supplier of a strategic enterprise resource gives a
competitive advantage for business. This course also covers the scientific bases adopted in the
design of information systems, and the extent of the contribution of management information
systems in the planning, development, and decision-making. Also introduces the concept of
databases, networks and communications, and control over the management information systems.

1: System concept, and the provisions of the system.
The general model of the systems, and the organization as a system.
Activities (components) core of the system. System Properties. Types of systems. Balance the
system. The concept of management information systems. Resources management information
systems. Integration of resources and activities in management information systems. Management
information systems as a supplier of enterprise resource.
2: information systems and organizations Information Systems and Organizations
The concept of data, information, knowledge. Information and knowledge. Data sources. Data
processing methods. Types of information. Characteristics of the quality of the information.
3: functional and information systems Information Systems Functionality
Transaction processing systems. Functional information systems. Information systems and
administrative functions. Information systems and functions of the facility. First: marketing
information systems and sales. Second: manufacturing information systems and production. Third:
Accounting Information Systems and Finance. Fourth: human resources information systems.

6: Communications and Networking Telecommunication and Networks

Course objectives
1. To present fundamental concepts such as systems.

organizational objectives and organizational structure;
3. To understand the different kinds of systems used in the organizations.
4. To study the networks types and topologies.
5. to identify the different concepts that contain a concept of information systems, data,
information, knowledge to study various diagrams that are used to construct models of an
information system including use case diagrams, interaction diagrams, object diagrams,
state-transition diagrams, attribute dictionaries, decision tables and trees, and structured
English.
