Extended Juvenile Jurisdiction
• EJJ in MN - 1995
• gives juveniles one last chance in the juvenile system (for
juveniles that have been in the system for a while)

the bargain there is an adult sentence hanging over their
head
• juveniles have to be @ least 14 to qualify for EJJ
• in Dakota County there are approximately 10-12 EJJ
cases per year
