Chinese Dynasties Project
Part 1 – Set Up
1. Open Microsoft PowerPoint. On the first slide (title slide), write “Dynasties of China” and your name.
Save the file to your H:/ Drive. Name the file “Dynasties of China – Your name”.
2. Open the PDF file on my website entitled, “Dynasties of China Assignment Sheet”.

Part 2 – Time to work…
1. For each dynasty on the chart, you will see a list of items you must find. You must find these items by
researching online.
2. For each Chinese dynasty, you will make one slide. (We are discussing 10 dynasties, so you should
create 1 title slide and 10 content slides. Your PowerPoint presentation should consist of 11 slides, in
total.)
3. For each item, write one bullet point on your slide. You should include some pictures or video, as well
(it is not necessary to find a picture for each item).
- For example, the first dynasty listed is the Shang Dynasty. You must find “1x Social Organization” (One
piece of information about the social organization of the Shang Dynasty). You must also find “3x
Achievements” (3 achievements of the Shang Dynasty). Include all four of these items on one slide. The
title of this slide should, of course, be “Shang Dynasty”.
Part 3 – Saving and Posting
1. First, save the file to your H:/ Drive when you are finished.
2. Now, I want you to save the PowerPoint as a PDF. To do this, go to “File” and click “Save As…”. In the
“Save AS” window that opens, you will see a drop box called “Save as type”. Select PDF. Then, save the
file (now a PDF) to your H:/ Drive.
3. Log on to Edmodo and upload the PDF version of your PPT to the Assignment named “Dynasties of
China"
