• The following slides allow the students to explore square
numbers. They show how the square numbers can be
calculated by adding odd numbers.
• Allow the students time to prove that this happens for
72, 82, 92 and 102.(1+3+5+7+9+11+13+15+17+19).
• This can then be extended so that they students can predict
how many odd numbers will be in 152, 202 and 372.
