DNA Paper Model
Instructions
1. Color the parts of DNA according to the following key:
P (Phosphate) - Red
S (Sugar) - Blue
A (Adenine) - Yellow
G (Guanine) - Green
T (Thymine) - Purple
C (Cytosine) - Orange
2. Cut out the two (2) sugar-phosphate backbones and the
nitrogen base pairs.
3. Glue the two (2) backbones on a separate sheet of paper. Be sure to line up the
numbers.
4. Glue the base pairs between the backbones. Be sure to make the numbers match.
Analysis: After completion of your DNA model, talk to neighbor about the structure of
your DNA model. Be sure to include the words above in your discussion.
