The Central Coast’s Professional Resident Theatre Company Job Description Position: Rental / Warehouse Coordinator Department: Production Reports to: Production Manager The Rental Coordinator (a full-time hourly position), is responsible for coordinating all costume and prop rentals; communicates and coordinates among other shop personnel and department heads concerning maintenance and repair of inventory; oversees the organization and maintenance of the warehouse facilities and inventory. Although immediately supervised by the Production Manager, the Rental Coordinator is often required to work closely with the Props Director and Costume Shop Manager. Examples of Duties: • Oversee the rental process of the rental/loan of PCPA props and costumes including handling inquiries from the public and other theatres while maintaining a positive relationship with renters and suppliers. • Maintain and update catalog and inventory of PCPA props and costumes. • Supervise organization of all props and costumes within the warehouse. • Maintains quality control of outgoing product, along with overseeing maintenance of current and returned stock. Understanding construction methods; upholstery, hand tools, power tools, adhesives, foams, and working knowledge of fabric, sewing, and costume craft techniques, etc. • Prioritizes inventory for PCPA Productions. • Manage Warehouse building facilities (i.e., manage keys, arrange building repairs in conjunction with Production Manager, etc.) • Coordinate and communicate with Props Director and Costume Shop Manager regarding inventory. • Keeps an accurate and current account of all expenditures. • Assists with supervising and training Conservatory Technical Theatre Training students and interns in the production lab classes and performances. • Work as needed in other production related shops. • • • Maintains a safe, healthy, and clean/shop environment. Maintains MSDS sheets on all necessary products purchased. To perform other related work as required. Qualifications: • A working knowledge of all aspects of the theatre. • Strong organizational and time management budgeting skills. • Excellent communication skills – written, oral, visual and telephone. • Knowledge and usage of correct English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. • Ability to work without supervision. • Strong computer skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office. • Ability to work productively under severe time pressures and meet deadlines. • A working knowledge of properties, textiles and costume history. • Use power and hand tools accurately and effectively. • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Theatre preferred, or 3-4 years professional experience in similar position. Special Qualifications: • Evidence of sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students, and to staff and students with disabilities. Other Requirements: • Possess a valid California Drivers license and have access to a vehicle for transportation to and from business related events. • Willing to drive company vehicles. Work Conditions: • Ability to work long hours and work with a flexible schedule. • Must be willing to work at heights, around moving machinery, and with exposure to noise, vibration, and dust. • Must be willing to travel and work at various sites. • Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions while using the appropriate safety procedures. • Ability to work safely in an environment containing potentially hazardous electrical equipment, fumes, vapor, gasses, and/or materials. Physical Demands: • Must possess sufficient strength and stamina to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. • Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting, bending, standing, climbing, and/or walking.
