WORK EXPERIENCE
April 2010 –
Angels The Costumiers – Trainee Costumier
December 2010
Following my internship I was employed as a staff member within Angels.
I have taken on more responsibilities, built up my experience in fittings for men, women
and children in period costume as well as modern. I have built upon my skills of
multitasking and prioritising jobs in order to meet deadlines and provide the best possible
work. My knowledge of period costume has greatly developed, as has my understanding of
collating costumes for complete productions, interpreting the needs of the designers.
I have worked with a variety of people on projects for film, TV, theatre and events.
February 2010 –
Angels The Costumiers - Internship
April 2010
I recently began an 8 week internship at the London Costumiers, where I have been able to
pull costumes, shoes, accessories and jewellery for various clients. I have done basic hand
sewing as well assisting with the reorganisation of the costume store. I have also learnt
how to book out costumes for shipping.
February 2010
Costume Designer – Event – Fulbrook High School Prom
1950s themed prom, I sourced and provided costumes for three actors in order for them to
represent Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Woody Allen.
November 2009 –
Guildford Shakespeare Company – Romeo and Juliet – Assistant Costume Designer
February 2010
I assisted the costume designer with research for the show, sourcing costumes from
various places such as the National Theatre costume store, attending fittings – taking notes
of alterations and photographs of the chosen pieces, helping with the ‘get-in’ and technical
week – repairing costumes, manufacturing and altering any final costumes, being available
during the dress rehearsal. I also assisted with the ‘get-out’ and any costume maintenance
during the run of the show.
October 2009 –
Whitgift School Production – Carmen – Wardrobe Assistant
December 2009
I assisted on the production ‘Carmen’, for which I gave creative input on the general
appearance of the show, sourced costumes, designed and manufactured costumes as well
as styling the cast.
September 2009 –
Ambassador Theatre Group – New Wimbledon Theatre – Dresser

I worked as a Dresser within the New Wimbledon Theatre. I worked on a range of
productions including ‘Rocky Horror’, ‘Grapes of Wrath’, ‘Matthew Bourne’s Dorian Gray

‘Aladdin’, starring Pamela Anderson, Ruby Wax and Paul O’Grady.
March 2009
Costume and Production Design, The Guildford International Music Festival - First Night
Showcase, ‘Hearts of War’, Electric Theatre
A collaborative project between University of Surrey musicians and GSA performers,
www.firstnightshowcase.co.uk. For this I costumed the musical ‘Hearts of War’, sourcing
costumes, managing costs and manufacturing/altering various pieces. I also helped with set
design and manufacture, staging and lighting (follow-spot).
Summer 2007/2008
Frenchwoods Festival of Performing Arts Summer Camp, New York, USA –
Costumier/Wardrobe Supervisor
I worked within the Costume Department. I costumed full scale musical
productions/dramas; pulling costumes to measurements, altering/repairing costumes and
working backstage during rehearsals and the run of the production. This enabled me to
experience working long hours with a lot of responsibility and pressures of deadlines.
May/June 2008
Delaila – Office Assistant
A luxury costume Jewellery Company created by Laila Aitken. I assisted with general office
management tasks, putting together look-books and press books, organising the jewellery,
updating the main contact sheet and liaised between offices.
I was involved with final preparations for the company sale event party; packing/couriering
jewellery and display items to event location, setting up/packing away the event and doing
inventory on all stock. During the event I greeted guests, assisted with queries, gave advice
on purchases and dealt with sales and packaging.
