Here at STAR we strive to put on a quality production while having fun! In order to do this, we need as many volunteers that are
willing to help! Each and every one of you will play a crucial role in the production of this show. Not only will you come away with
having an amazing experience with our theatre family, but you will also feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of the production!
As you can see, there are many jobs you can do to make this show a success! Please fill out what job description fits you best, and turn
in your Sign Up Sheet before you leave today! Your support and dedication to STAR will never go unnoticed!

STAR Volunteer Job Description List
Stage Managing/Assistant Stage Managing/Assistant Technical Managers: Lighting, sound, spot light, notes.
Crew Chief: Manager of the on-stage assistants and scene changes. In charge of assigning volunteers to get sets on and
off stage and setting up a volunteer on-stage schedule.
On-Stage Assistants: Help move sets and props and assist with scene changes on-stage. Must wear black at every
performance.
Set Designer: Designs sets, color coordinates sets to costumes and/or arranges to help get sets out of storage.
Coordinates volunteers to help paint and build sets if necessary.
Set Builders/Painters: Assists set designer in building, paint, or touch up needed for the sets.
Prop Designer/Manager: Obtains prop list from directors and pulls props from storage or arranges to obtain props.
Organizes props on stage and tapes prop tables. Assigns prop assistants to shop for or create props.
Prop Assistants: Assists Prop Manager in organizing, creating and obtaining props. May also assist in loading in props to
the theatre and assisting in showing kids who to use props and helping Prop Manager tape tables.
Program: Type up program, and put lay out in PDF format for printing.
Load In: Help load in sets, props and costumes into the theatre during production week and/or set up.
Strike: Help take down sets and props and load them onto trailers to go back to storage.
Clean Up: Clean dressing rooms and make sure theatre is clean when everyone leaves.
Back Stage Manager: In charge of running the dressing rooms and actors.
Entrance and Exits: Assist in getting the actors and actresses on and off the stage. Must wear black to every
performance.
On-Script: Follow script back stage during production and report to entrance and exit volunteers what scene is coming up
next.
Back-stage Assistants: Help in dressing rooms, with monitoring, costuming, make-up, etc.
Make Up/Hair: Assist actors with hair and make-up.
Costume Manager: Coordinate costume sewers and assign jobs to sew/buy necessary costumes, label costumes and
organize load into dressing rooms.
Costume Assistants: Works with Costume Manager to sew and/or organize costumes. Pulls costumes from storage, thrift
store shops and/or locates necessary costumes.
Microphones: Helps get mics on and off performs back stage, during production week, and performances.
Flower/Chocolate Coordinator: Orders and organizes delivery and pick-up of orders.
T-Shirt Coordinator: Count orders, order shirts and delivers them to each performer.
Trophies Coordinator: Count orders, order trophies and delivers them to each performer.
Video Coordinator: Helps video each performance, counts orders, and helps deliver them to each performer.
Cast Party Coordinator: Organizes and sets up cast party.
Promotion and Fundraising: Assists the Marking Director in helping to promote the show.
Ticket Manager: Orders tickets from the venue, and distributes them to the performers.
