What is propaganda? What are two different types of propaganda?
Propaganda is a very old form of media bias and it is categorized into two: black
propaganda and white propaganda. Black propaganda consists of telling stories about
how bad the enemy is and it increases the country’s own soldiers’ and civilians’
desire to defeat the enemy. Showing how evil the enemy is will also make other
countries support them. White propaganda, on the other hand, concerns the good,
brave actions of one’s own side. It makes people proud of their country and culture
and increases their desire to protect it from the enemy. It also helps to win the
support of other countries by showing how ‘good’ and ‘right’ their country is.
