1. factor tree-a diagram showing the prime factorization of a number
2. factor-a number that is multiplied by another number to find a product
3. prime number- a whole number greater than 1 with exactly two
factors, 1 and itself
4. prime factorization- a composite number expressed as the product of
its prime factors
5. base (of an exponent)- a number multiplied by itself the number of
times shown by an exponent
6. exponent- the number of times the base is to be multiplied by itself
7. power- the number of times the base is to be multiplied by itself;
exponent
8. composite number- whole number that has more than two wholenumber factors
9. multiple-the product of a given number and any whole number
10.expression-a mathematical combination of variables, numerals, and
operations
11.validate-to give evidence that a solution or process is correct
12.sequence-an ordered list of numbers
13.least common Denominator- the least common multiple of the
denominators of every fraction in a given set of fractions
