or 5, leaf veins are branched
Xylem the vascular tissue though which water and nutrients move in some plants
Phloem the vascular tissue though which food moves in some plants
Germination The early growth stage of the embryo plant in a seed (to sprout)

The joining of a sperm cell and an egg cell

benthos
organisms that inhabit the ocean floor
desalination removing salt from ocean water to make it fresh water
nekton free-swimming ocean animals ( they swim where they want to)
Respiration the process by which cells break down simple food molecules to
release the energy they contain
SONAR sound navigation and ranging, used to measure ocean floor depth
Autotroph
an organism that makes its own food ( a producer)
Heterotroph an organism that can not make its own food ( a consumer)
Photosynthesis the process by which plants and some other organisms capture
the energy in sunlight and use it to make food.
pH A range of number from 0-14 that tells how acidic or basic a substance is
pH scale 0-6 Acid, 7 neutral, 8-14 Base
