In what ways did Humanism and Individualism characterize the Renaissance? How do Renaissance views of government, art, and literature compare to today? We will be practicing and improving on the following skills in class this week: Critical Thinking Brainstorming Cooperative Learning Effective Discussion The Rise of the Renaissance: You will read the section on Italian Renaissance in your Renaissance Reading Packet (stop before reading the Art section). Be sure to use one or more of your reading strategies. After reading, you need to answer the following questions in complete sentences: Understanding Themes - Define the following terms and for each term give an example of how it influenced the Renaissance Period: o Humanism o Individualism Critical Thinking - In diagram or paragraph form, compare and contrast the Italian city-states of Florence, Rome, and Venice.
