January 2015 JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title Online Trading Manager Job Purpose: The role is responsible for trading the Dreams website, reporting to the Head of Ecommerce. The role will work with buying, merchandising and the marketing team to optimise sales through the online channel. You will provide analysis and work cross functionally to deliver ongoing campaigns whilst proactively reacting to trading conditions. Reports to: Head of Ecommerce Location: Dreams Head Office, High Wycombe Principal Reports: None Key Liaisons: Buying, Merchandising and Supply Chain team, Marketing, DBF, Retail, Telesales and Customer Services Main Accountabilities: Daily monitor all competitor activity including; promotions, pricing, price comparisons and product range. React swiftly by reporting all findings to ensure we remain competitive Produce weekly competitor activity report for the exec team to review Report and evaluate the performance of promotions and offers using financial and web metrics Identify promotional/marketing opportunities and risk in trade plan and anticipate stock, margin and sales implications Analyse sales trends, competitor activity and use this to recommend appropriate action Optimise product placement though sorting rules and internal search keywords Liaise with merchandising to improve online performance through pricing action, product range and promotional activity Use analysis to suggest areas of the website to test and improve conversion Principal Skills & Attributes Required: Proven experience gained within a fast paced retail environment Technical understanding of website systems Analytical and customer focused Good working knowledge of web analytics e.g coremetrics, omniture, web trends, google analytics Ability to use data to adapt commercial plans and exploit opportunities to and/or mitigate risk Collaborative consensus building both horizontally and vertically Commercially focused / high attention to detail Good communication and influencing skills / Good time management and organisational skills Results focused and able to self-manage and priorities own workload efficiently Behaviours Required: Positive, ‘can do’ attitude at all times Flexible approach to work and workload Open and honest approach at all times Customer Focused (both external and internal customers) with a diplomatic and helpful manner Team player Supportive
