in Optical Fibers Quantum Noise Reduction with Pulsed Light

... Optical fibers offer considerable advantages over bulk nonlinear media for the generation of squeezed states. This thesis reports on experimental investigations of reducing quantum noise by means of squeezing in nonlinear fiber optic interferometers. Fibers have low insertion loss which allows for l ...

If the optical sensor is based on the use of a spectrophotometer (e.g. miniature fibre optic PC2000, Ocean Optics) the environmental light should be kept constant, the sensor should have an optical isolation or the sampl ...

The collimated output from the gas laser operated at 6328 A is passed through the YAG crystal, the beam waist is measured as a function of the distance from the second principal plane of the rod. The distance of the principal planes from the ends of the rod is h = 2.05 cm. For each given ...

... From the experiments, we have found that the optical system used has several advantages and constraints. The advantages include single-step process and flexibility in the selection of lasers and recording media for various photonic crystals. Since the optical system is symmetrical, the beams are app ...

Ultrafast laser spectroscopy

Ultrafast laser spectroscopy is a spectroscopic technique that uses ultrashort pulse lasers for the study of dynamics on extremely short time scales (attoseconds to nanoseconds). Different methods are used to examine dynamics of charge carriers, atoms and molecules. Many different procedures have been developed spanning different time scales and photon energy ranges; some common methods are listed below.
