MMA.1.A Compare and analyze methods that involve the use of a variety of
representations, tools and technologies for solving real- life problems
Monday
1. Student will solve equations using the distributive property.
Questions: How does a negative factor affect the product of a number and a
sum or difference?
2. Engage and Connect
Warm Up: Simplify expression involving the distributive property
3.Guided Instruction /practice
 Solve a linear equation using the distributive property
 Given an equation remove the parenthesis using the distributive property,
the use the properties of equality to isolate the variable.
 Solve 3 problems involving distributive property.
4. Check for understanding: Teacher observation, discussion and responses to
questions.
