(Using the Distributive Property)
Steps in Solving Multi-Step Equations
1) Use the distributive property
2) Simplify expressions by combining like terms
3) Use the Addition and/or Subtraction Property of Equality to get variables on
one side of the equation and the constants on the other.
4) Simplify the expressions on each side of the equals sign.
5) Use the Multiplication or Division Property of Equality to Solve.
