rewards performance, teamwork and leadership. As a Marketing and Sales (Customer Management)
Graduate you will be working with some of our famous brands in our UK Head office in Kingshill, Kent.
Sales & Marketing
During the structured 2 year programme you will spend a 12 month placement in both Brand Activation and
Customer Management (Sales). Your marketing exposure will predominantly cover Brand activation in the
UK together with some opportunities to work on Brand development for the European market. The Sales
exposure you will gain covers the areas of Customer Management, Category Development and Customer
Marketing. Liaising with a variety of departments, you will develop strong communication links with other
teams. You will also be involved and have responsibility for a variety of key projects under the guidance of
your team leader. Previous examples include managing the brand loyalty initiative, winter promotions and
dot com consumer trials.
Key Responsibilities: Sales

Providing analysis to assist with category development

Analysing data and maintaining reports to make informed decisions on plans to deliver volume,
share, and market profit targets for specified products and customers

Developing Point-of-Purchase materials

Using creativity to develop opportunities and resolve business issues
Key Responsibilities: Marketing

Delivering the brand promise to consumers

In-depth analysis on brands, markets, customers and competitors

Developing an understanding of consumers, customers, shoppers, markets, brands and competitors

Using creativity to develop communications and to identify opportunities and resolve business issues
Following your successful completion of the graduate recruitment programme, you will take up a role in
Consumer Marketing, Customer Marketing, Business to Business Marketing or Customer Management taking
into account your specific skills and depending on business opportunities at the time.

Qualifications

Gained or be expecting to gain (this year) a 2:1 or European equivalent in a numerate related/business
degree
Personal Skills

Fluent in English

Ability to demonstrate leadership skills

High level of attention to detail

Excellent communication skills as you will liaise with a range of internal departments


Previous Experience


Kimberly-Clark, Kings Hill
Kimberly-Clark's UK Headquarters are located in the modern business park at Kings Hill, West Malling, Kent,
employing approximately 250 people. Activities carried out here include: Consumer and Professional Sales &
Marketing, Customer Services, Finance, Human Resources and ITS (Information Technology Services).

Kimberly-Clark's European Headquarters are based in the historic town of Reigate, Surrey, employing
approximately 300 people spread across two office buildings. The following European functions are carried
out there: strategic marketing for the Family Care, Infant/Childcare, Feminine and Adult Care and
Professional sectors, Financial Control, Business Analysis, Supply Chain, Legal and Human Resources.

Wherever there are people there is Kimberly-Clark! Our products are sold in more than 150 countries and
manufacturing facilities can be found in various UK and Continental European locations:
Our UK mills:
Northfleet, Kent
Our longest-established mill, Northfleet, was opened in 1956 and employs approximately 300 people. The
site is operational 365 days per year, 24 hours per day, producing Andrex® toilet tissue, which during any
one week can produce enough toilet rolls to stretch to the moon. The mill employs world class
manufacturing techniques, and is currently one of five mills piloting lean manufacturing techniques within
Kimberly-Clark.
Barrow in Furness, Cumbria
Situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park Barrow Mill is the largest tissue Mill in Europe. The
site is 72 acres and the Mill operates 365 days per year, 24 hours a day. It supports two Kimberly-Clark
businesses: KC Professional making products such as industrial wipes; and Consumer - Family Care producing
well known brands such as Andrex, and a full range of Kleenex facial tissues. The mill currently employs 427
people and was opened by Bowater Scott in 1967, in 1986 became Scott Limited, and then in 1996 a merger
took place with Kimberly-Clark. Since the merger The Mill has successfully positioned itself as part of the
strategic footprint for Kimberly-Clark Europe and has attracted £125M investment since 1996.
Barton, North Lincolnshire
Our Barton Mill opened in 1992 and is located close to the Humber suspension bridge. It uses state-of-theart equipment to produce millions of Huggies® nappies for European markets and operating 365 days per
year, 24 hours per day, the Barton site employs approximately 450 people. The mill recently won the Best
Overall Sustainable Waste Management Solution at the Severnside Annual Recycling Awards, with an
impressive 90% of waste produced during the process being recycled and absolutely nothing sent to landfill
sites. The dual site also has a Global Nonwovens facility that creates proprietary materials, delivering
anticipating market needs with step-change innovations.
Flint, North Wales
The Flint Site, with its three Mills, (Flint, Delyn and Coleshill) has firmly established itself as a world-class
manufacturer, reflecting the company’s status as a world leader in the production of high quality products
such as Kleenex® bulk pack, small roll and jumbo bathroom tissue, Hostess® Hand Towels and Huggies®
Baby Wipes. The Flint mill, with approximately 100 employees, was the first mill to open in 1982 and has
received a £40 million investment in 2003. It manufactures Huggies® Baby Wipes. This is a growth sector
for Kimberly-Clark and the Mill has future investment plans to develop the operation further.
