Research Projects on Ancient Greece
Pairs of students, or individual students, depending on the size of the class, will be
required to research one of the topics listed below. The products of your research will
then be presented to the class – basically teaching the unit on Ancient Greek civilization
to your classmates. Research may be presented as a “paper” (word processed on 8 ½
x 11 paper – with illustrations if possible) or as a PowerPoint presentation with text and
images to illustrate the text. If presented as a paper, students may not read from the
paper, but must lecture the class from notes or an outline, thereby demonstrating that
they have learned their topic and are not just reading it. The same is required of those
students who present their research as a PowerPoint. Reading from the slides is
prohibited. You must demonstrate a solid grasp of the subject of your presentation.
