Plant Poster Project
Description: In lieu of HW, in the Plant Unit, each student will be
required to create a poster to show that he/she understands the
structure & function of the plant and its life cycle. This project
will be worth 60 points.
How to make the Plant Poster: You are now the teacher! You are going to
make a poster to teach others about the 7th grade Life Science State
Standards on plants. Create your poster so that your students will
understand. Use the following as a guideline.
You will need one section for each of the following topics.
Use Ch. 10
Section 1: Title, your name, period, graphic.
Name & describe the 2 types of reproduction in plants. Pg. 365
Section 2: General description of plants including: What are plants?
(Hint: 3 characteristics all plants share) How are plants organized?
You can use a diagram if you wish. Pgs. 362-363.
Section 3: Seed Plant: What is a seed plant? Define pollen and seeds.
How do seeds become new plants? Pgs. 375-379
Section 4: Gymnosperm: What characteristics do all gymnosperms
share? How do they reproduce? Pg.388. Gymnosperm Life Cycle. Pgs.
390-391. Use bullets or numbers.
Section 5: Angiosperms: What characteristics do all angiosperms
share? Pg.392. Angiosperm Life Cycle, pg. 394. Use bullets or
numbers.
Section 6: Structure of a flower. Include a picture & label it.
Write the function of stamen, pistils, sepals, & petals. Pgs. 392-393
You will have today in class to work on your project. It will be due at the end
of class on Monday. Be sure to look it over and be sure you have covered all
the sections accurately.
