Minutes Regional Day Camp Thursday September 27, 2007 6:30pm Culvers on HWY 12/18 at Todd Drive Present : Mary, Michelle, Gene, Brian, Terri and Lenny Minutes from August Meeting Dodgeville mini-camp location will be an issue for BB’s and Archery because no state or local parks will allow for shooting sports. Michelle will contact Tom’s camp and Bethel Horizons as alternative locations Leader Guide Review. Comments were addressed. An additional section on the availability of lunches will be added. Michelle wants every cub scout family to receive the camping packet. Gene feels the packet is too confusing with all the different camps. Proposed budget Regular fee = $50 Late fee = $60 Day of fee = $70 Twilight camps = $30 Dodgeville = $30 Activity Station List Discussion about a daily activity to be used by the camp directors as busy work for the campers. Gene proposed a treasure chest kit that could be done over the length of the camp. Stations: Weather – need paper, cups, straws, acrylic science tubes BB Archery Tomahawks Beading – Beads, cording Tattooing – needles, ink Fish nets – cotton string, weaving type boards Cooking (vegetables and fruit Kabobs) – Kabob sticks, fruit vegetables Obstacle course – a lot of lumber and hardware, 6 tires (clean) Shipwreck – more lumber, pallets 1st Aid Station- bandages, blood, sticks, etc Nature station Music Station – cardboard tubes, nitrile gloves, rubber bands, straws Bandanas and slides – Sheets or white neckerchiefs, dye, buckets, leather Water bottles – quart milk jugs Rope making – twine, machine Obstacle course (Woodman only) Shower curtain rings need to be purchased Gene is building a pirate ship and is looking for palette wood. Can we use the carts again in some fashion? T- Shirt Design – Phil was looking into this (This was our understanding at the August meeting) Patch Design – Phil was looking at this too (This was our understanding at the August meeting) Other items: Missing Dodgeville and twilight Carlson from 2008 Day Camp Budget. Two WSS TC camps mentioned. Need to clarify with Scott. Michelle would like to purchase the recognition awards for her camp. Mary wants a nice small item to take to the packs for presentations that relate to the camp theme. A small beading animal was suggested. Other small craft projects would be considered. Pow Wow presentation should also be considered. Action items: Begin designing the stations Need supply list Need preliminary write ups.
