Mrs. Burns’ News August 22-26, 2016 What we are learning this week: Reading: Students will be able to answer the questions who, what, when, where, why, and how using an informational text. We will be reading Exploring Space with an Astronaut and other nonfiction stories. Language: Types of Sentences. Declarative and Interrogative Sentences. Declarative tells a statement Interrogative asks a question. Math: Test Topic 1 Topic 2 Addition Strategies Adding zero, one and two, doubles, near doubles, adding three numbers, and making ten to add. Science: Solar System We will be learning about the planets, solar system, and space. Tests this week: Tuesday- Topic 1 Math test Thursday- Spelling test Friday- Vocabulary test and Fact test Notes from the Teacher: Please bring $25 for workbook fees.
