What we are learning this
week:
Reading: Students will be able to answer the

how using an informational text. Some books
we will be using to learn this skill are:
Exploring Space with an
Astronaut,_________
Language: Types of Sentences.
Declarative and Interrogative Sentences.
Declarative tells a statement
Interrogative asks a question.
Math: Test Topic 1
Topic 2 Addition Strategies Adding zero,
one and two, doubles, near doubles, adding
three numbers, and making ten to add.
Science: Solar System
We will be learning about the planets, solar
system, and space.
Test this week:
Tuesday- Topic 1 Test Math
Friday- Vocabulary and Spelling
Notes from the Teacher:

Please study for a test on Friday. Your child will have to match each
word to its definition and use it in a sentence.
1. ascend- go up
2. descend- go down
3. enormous- very big and huge
4. journey- a long trip
5. launch- get something going
6. meteorite- piece of stone or rock from space that hits something
7. orbit- the path around something in space
8. universe- Earth, sun, moon, planets, and stars
