The intent of these specifications is to insure electrical/ electronic equipment will meet and maintain the requirements imposed by these specifications as to safety and accuracy under heavy use. The unit shall be the latest model, new and unused product, preferably of an American manufacturer engaged in manufacturing this type of equipment and maintaining a local source for service, parts and consultation. All products shall be Underwriter's Laboratories, Inc., City of L.A. Testing Laboratory, or other approved agency. The bidder shall indicate opposite each item, in the space provided, whether the equipment being offered meets the specification. Any variance shall be fully described in the space provided, or in an accompanying letter. DOCUMENTATION Two (2) copies shall be supplies of the equipment operation and maintenance instruction manuals written in English. All wiring schematics are to use "Electronic Industries Association" (E.I.A). standard schematic symbols as approved by "National Electrical Manufacturer Association" (N. E. M. A.) - of which will includes as a minimum: 1. Comprehensive operating instructions. 2. Specifications: including power requirements, tolerance, dimensions, weight, and input and output signal characteristics. 3. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS All equipment will be required to meet the criteria and/or specification as published in the solicitation and the safety acceptance specifications of the Biomedical Electronics Department. Failure to meet any portion of the criteria or specifications will be considered grounds for rejections. C. TRAINING Vendor must agree to supply technical assistance, when required by the purchaser, for use in operating and maintaining the equipment which may include factory consultation, service schools, seminars, onsite training, etc. If "paid for" training is available, this cost to be provided in this space. D. ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Power cord and plug: a. Power cord shall be type SJO, SJT, SJTO or better. b. Wire size shall be #18 AWG or larger. c.
