Cell Analogy Project Instructions Cells, the basic units of life, are often compared to a pizza parlor, a factory, or even an entire city. In this project, you will need to make analogies to compare the function of the plant or animal cell to the part and functions of an entire city or other entity. To accomplish this, you must complete the following tasks: Task 1: Create analogies between plant/animal cell parts and a city’s (or any analogy’s) parts by completing the Cell Analogy worksheet. (This is your plan) Due Date is September _________________ A must: When making the analogies between your cell and your city (or other analogy), the functions of the city part and cell part must match, not the appearance! This is worth 15 points Task 2: Draw a detailed model of your cell city or analogy. This drawing must be neat and will be used as your draft. Use a ruler for your straight edges! You must label both the part in the cell city (cell analogy) and the cell part that’s represented. Due Date is September __________________________ This is worth 25 points Task 3: Complete your Cell Analogies Project with all organelles listed with their analogy. Due September ___________________ a. Cell drawing 10 points b. Cell Structures Labeled 10 points c. Analogy Pictures 10 points d. Written Analogies 15 points Task 4: Present your Cell Analogy Project to the class. This is worth 15 points (Extra credit) Build a three-dimensional model of a cell. You will receive ______ extra credit points.
