Description
ING’s UL-In-A-Box project intends to create the core system components that would enable
eventual region implementation of the system and launch of the Unit Linked products in the
APAC region countries. The IPAS system will be the new policy administration platform in the
region. A new system called NB Application Capture workstation will be built to provide the
Application Data Capture and use IPAS rules engine for Quick Assessment and Auto Issue. The
NB Application Capture workstations will be Java based system. The application life cycle would
begin in the workstation as data entry. The application and related data will be stored in a local
database until final disposition upon which all application related data will be submitted to
IPAS. After final submission, the records will be logically deleted from Application Capture
workstation. The workstation will interact with IPAS using web services. All application capture
related business rules such as Plan definitions including funds list, NIGO, Quick Assessment and
Auto Issue rules will be configured in IPAS. The workstation will invoke these services from
IPAS to enable the data capture and final submission to IPAS. The design objective is to build the
first process called ‘Application Capture’ in the new business underwriting high level process.
When the customer decides to make an application; the agent/customer fills the new business
application form. This process starts with agent submitting an application form with standard
requirements to the Branch or Central office.
